SLiiM Wins 'Best Community' at IFM!
SLiiM Shines as a Functional Medicine Community!
The St. Louis Institute of Integrative Medicine (SLiiM) was formed over a decade ago in St. Louis. This year, our tight-knit community was recognized at the 2019 Evolution of Medicine Awards night, when Kristen Brokaw was awarded "Community Builder of the Year", presented by author James Maskell of Functional Forum.
Last year, James Maskell came to St. Louis to attend a SLiiM collaborative event that was hosted with SymBowl restaurant and Angela Lamb's documentary Un-Inflame Me: Reversing the American Diet & Lifestyle. We are proud to say that SLiiM stands-out as a network of healthcare professionals that engage, communicate, and work together to form a community dedicated to functional medicine for patients that need it most.
In May, Kristen was interviewed for the Functional Forum, focusing on the power of bringing healthcare communities and practitioners together. Immediately following, SLiiM started receiving messages from across the country asking for more information about SLiiM, and how they could find integrative medicine resources in their own City. SLiiM is proud to serve as an example of a successful functional medicine community.
